Fact of the Week #38

Fact of the Week #38: Excellent visual arts teaching helps learners navigate through our visual world using two qualitative and interlinked experiential processes: creative expression and critical response.  Through the transformative process of creative expression, visual learners generate artistic ideas that can be elaborated, refined, and finally shaped into meaningful visual images and structures.  Through the informative process of critical response, visual learners perceive, interpret, and finally judge ideas connected to visual imagery and structures both past and present.  www.arteducators.org
